Born out of a high school friendship in 2008, Soap Box Cleaners was founded on the notion that high-quality cleaning service should be accessible to anyone, not just the ultra-wealthy.

We’re San Francisco natives that care about our community, come to see us more than once and we’ll probably even remember your name. With this in mind, we’ve worked hard to provide best-in-class cleaning solutions at a price that won’t break the bank with exceptional customer service. Soap Box Cleaners cares deeply about how you look and that’s why every step of the process is managed in-house, instead of simply sending your garments off to a big-box washing facility.

Our standard pickup and delivery service operates with next-day scheduling using our in-house drivers.

The turnaround time is typically 2-3 days, excluding weekends.

Our service window is Monday through Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We generally ask for a two-hour window within this timeframe, but please note that exact timing can vary depending on our drivers’ routes.

If precise timing is crucial for your schedule, our new On-Demand service might be a better fit.

On-Demand Pickup & Delivery

Introducing our new On-Demand service! Get your cleaning picked up and delivered in as little as 30 minutes through our partnerships with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and others.

On-Demand pickups are available from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. The standard cleaning turnaround is 2-3 days, with rush options available depending on availability.

Please note, this service operates through a separate software system and includes a mobile app available for download. When using the On-Demand service or app for the first time, you will need to provide your details anew as our systems do not share information like previous orders, wardrobe specifics, or payment methods. This setup ensures your data is securely handled and distinct from our regular service.

We cover the fees on orders over $40.00—otherwise, standard DoorDash/Uber Eats fees apply.

    1How does pick-up and delivery work?

    We offer two pickup & delivery options: Route Regular and On-Demand.

    1) Route Regular (Standard Service)

Orders over $40 include free delivery. Orders below $40 may include standard delivery fees. You can schedule service by calling our store or using our website (mobile app coming soon). We will notify you by text, email, or phone when your cleaning is ready.
    3Are there any additional costs for large items in Wash & Fold?
    Most of your Wash & Fold is charged by the weight ($2.25/lb store, $2.50/lb delivery). However, there are items that are charged differently: • Comforter: $40 • Blanket: See Price List • Mat (bath or kitchen): See Price List We charge differently for these items is because they require washing and drying to be separated from the rest of your other wash and fold. Comforters, for example, take several hours just to dry.
    4Can I hang dry garments?
    Yes. We can hang dry up to 10 items per wash & fold order. (Any additional items we will charge $1.00/per item.)
    5What type of detergent can I choose from?
    Our current default detergent of choice is SA8 laundry detergent. It is a bio-degradable, hyper-allergenic, and non-scented. If there is a specific detergent you prefer to use, you may bring it in to us and we will use that every time we wash your order. (Default: We do not use any fabrics softener or bleach related products)
    6Can I recycle hangers?
    Absolutely. We are more than happy to recycle your wire hangers. Just hand them over to our driver when they pick-up or drop off your laundry or you can bring them into our store. Note: Please don’t put the hangers inside the same bag as your clothes as this can damage your garment bag and or clothing.
    7Do you clean leather or wedding dress?
    Unfortunately we do not offer that service at the moment. We may offer this in the near future.
    8What are your hours and schedule on Holidays?

    9Cleaning Policy for Damaged Garments
    At Soap Box Cleaners, we pride ourselves on taking the utmost care of your garments throughout the cleaning process. Our team performs preliminary fabric tests to determine if dyes will hold during cleaning. However, despite passing these initial tests, there are rare instances where dyes may still discolor during the actual cleaning cycle.

    Delicate fabrics are always handled with special attention. We place such garments in mesh or protective bags to reduce the risk of damage. Still, it’s important to note that our dry cleaning equipment includes multiple tumbling cycles, and once garments are inside the machine, we cannot fully control the impact of those movements on certain materials.

    In the unfortunate event that a garment becomes damaged or is completely ruined during cleaning, our compensation policy is as follows:
    - We will reimburse up to 10 times the cleaning cost, up to $300.00.
    - If the damaged garment is brand new and exceeds this compensation amount, we may provide additional credit for future cleanings at our discretion, though monetary compensation is still capped as described above.
